Early Intervention
Early intervention encompasses a range of therapy services for children and their families. Early intervention fosters a whole set of personal strengths and skills that focus on developing strong foundations for future learning and development of speech and language. Skills acquisition may include joint attention, turn-taking, social routines and sequences, imitation, anticipation, responding, and early communication such as pointing, reaching, natural gestures, babbling and beginning to use some words.
It can take different forms, from working directly with the child, to providing training and supports to the parents, other caregivers or professionals around the child. We use play-based therapy approaches to create a positive and nurturing environment. Services may occur in the home environment, childcare or educational setting to provide supports where the child needs them.
